The practice
Art Vestors Group works with a small circle of collectors — individuals, families and institutions — helping them shape collections that reflect their intentions and endure beyond them. From our base in Charlotte, we serve clients across the Carolinas and, through long-standing relationships, well beyond.
We hold no inventory, operate no gallery and accept no commissions from sellers. Our only interest in a work of art is the role it plays in your collection. That independence is the foundation of everything we do: advice given freely, research pursued thoroughly and decisions made without pressure or haste.
Our philosophy is simple: buy well, document well, care well and plan ahead. Every engagement we undertake is organized around those four commitments, whether a collection numbers three works or three hundred.

Acquisition advisory & research
Discreet counsel before a work is acquired: provenance and condition review, exhibition history, market context and negotiation support — always in the collector’s interest alone.
Collection care & documentation
Maintaining the record that protects both the works and their owner. Cataloguing, condition reporting, conservation coordination, insurance documentation and guidance on storage and display.
Transition & estate coordination
Preparing collections for the future. We coordinate with family members, counsel and institutions on inheritance, donation and dispersal decisions, so transitions proceed calmly and in good order.

How engagements begin
Every engagement begins with a conversation — unhurried and confidential. We listen first: to what you collect, why you collect it and what you would like the collection to become. From there we propose a written scope of work, modest in its beginning and clear about what it covers.
Most relationships start with a single question — an attribution to consider, a condition report to review, a gift to weigh — and deepen over time. We work at the pace a collection deserves, meeting in person across the Carolinas when useful and at a distance everywhere else.
